The basics
Before you call.
Do you charge to come out and look?
Ask when you call and we tell you what the visit costs. It goes toward the work if you go ahead, and the invoice shows exactly what was done.
How fast can you get here?
Call and we will tell you honestly. Backups, burst pipes and no-hot-water calls go to the front of the line; a dripping faucet can usually wait for the next open slot.
Do you come to Elizabethtown?
Yes. Elizabethtown and Hardin County are inside our normal service area, at normal pricing. See the Elizabethtown page.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Allied Plumbing Inc is a licensed and insured Kentucky plumbing company, in business since 2008.
Do you take small jobs?
Yes. A faucet, a running toilet or a slow drain gets the same crew and the same care as a full sewer line. Small jobs are how most people meet us.
Who actually shows up?
Allied’s own crew, run by the owner. No subcontractors, and the same people every time.
Drain Cleaning
Questions about drain cleaning.
Should I use a chemical drain cleaner first?
We would rather you did not. Most of them do nothing for a real clog and some damage older pipes and traps. If you already have, tell us when you call so we can work safely.
Can you clear a main line?
Yes. Main line clogs, the ones that back up more than one fixture, are a large part of our drain work.
Do you use a camera?
When it makes sense. A camera inspection is how we confirm roots, breaks or bellies before recommending a repair. See Sewer and Septic.
Do you hydro jet?
Yes. Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to scour grease, scale and roots off the inside of the pipe, and it is what we reach for when a line keeps clogging after cabling, or for restaurant and commercial drains that carry a lot of grease.
Will it come back?
A one-off clog usually stays gone. If the line has roots or damage we will tell you, so you can decide between clearing it again later or fixing the cause.
Water Heaters and Tankless
Questions about water heaters and tankless.
How long should a water heater last?
Tank heaters typically run eight to twelve years around here; tankless units longer with descaling. Hard water and skipped maintenance shorten both. If yours is past ten and acting up, replacement is usually the better spend.
Can you tell me repair or replace over the phone?
Sometimes. Tell us the age, whether it is gas or electric, what it is doing, and send a photo of the unit and its label. We can often give you a straight answer before we come out.
Do you install tankless heaters?
Yes, where the house supports one. We check gas supply or electrical capacity and venting first so you are not sold a unit that cannot perform.
Do you haul the old one away?
Yes, every time.
Sewer and Septic
Questions about sewer and septic.
Do you pump septic tanks?
Pumping is a separate trade. We handle the plumbing: the line from the house, the inlet and outlet, camera inspections and repairs, and we will point you to a pumping service when that is what you need.
How do I know if it is the sewer line or a clog?
One slow drain is a clog. Several fixtures backing up together, especially at the lowest point of the house, is the main line. Either way, start with a call and we will tell you which crew and which machine to send.
Will you have to dig up the yard?
Not for an inspection, and often not for a cleaning. If a repair is needed we mark the exact spot first and dig only there.
Can roots be fixed for good?
Cutting them clears the line for now. Replacing the affected section with sealed PVC stops them for good. We will show you both on the camera and price both.
Plumbing Repairs

Do you charge extra for small jobs?
A small job is priced as a small job. Bundle a few and it is better value still.
Can you replace a faucet or toilet I bought?
Yes. Tell us the model when you book so we know it fits and bring the right connections.
My water bill jumped. Can you find the leak?
Usually. Running toilets, leaking irrigation and slab or underground line leaks are the common causes. We trace it and show you.
Do you replace garbage disposals?
Yes, repairs and replacements.
New Construction and Remodels
Questions about new construction and remodels.
Do you work with builders?
Yes. We take builder contracts and homeowner projects. Tell us which you are when you call.
Can you plumb a remodel in stages?
Yes. Rough-in, inspection, then finish once the other trades are done. That is the normal order.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
We schedule and attend the plumbing inspections for our work. Permitting arrangements depend on the project; we will explain how it works for yours.
Can you move a bathroom to a different part of the house?
Often, and we will tell you honestly if the drain routing makes it a bad idea.
Commercial Plumbing
Questions about commercial plumbing.
Do you handle restaurants?
Yes. Kitchen drains, sinks, dishwashers, water heaters and restroom fixtures. For grease trap pumping we coordinate with a pumping service.
Can you come after hours?
For some jobs, yes. Tell us the constraint when you call and we will give you a straight answer on scheduling.
Do you work with property managers?
Yes, including rental portfolios in both towns. One contact, one invoice format, and a crew that knows the buildings.
Do you do backflow testing for businesses?
Yes. Annual tests, reports and repairs. See the backflow page.
Backflow Testing
Questions about backflow testing.
How often does my backflow need testing?
Annually for most commercial and irrigation assemblies. Your utility’s notice states the due date.
What happens if I ignore the notice?
Utilities can and do disconnect service for untested assemblies. Sending us the notice the day it arrives keeps that off the table.
Can you test residential irrigation backflows?
Yes. Irrigation systems on city water often have one and get the same notices.
Do you replace old assemblies?
Yes. When repair parts are no longer available or the assembly keeps failing, replacement with a current model is the better spend.
