What happens when we show up.
We ask the right questions first
Which drains, how long, what has already been tried. It tells us which machine to bring in and where the clog probably is.
We work clean
Drain work is messy by nature. We set up for it and clean up after it, so the only thing you notice is that the drain works again.
We clear it from the right access point
A cleanout, a trap or the roof vent, depending on where the blockage sits. The goal is to clear the line, not just push the clog further down.
We bring the right machine
A cable clears most clogs. For grease, scale and heavy roots that a cable will not hold, we hydro jet the line: high-pressure water that scours the pipe wall clean instead of punching a hole through the blockage.
We check the flow, not just the drain
Running water for a few minutes after clearing tells us whether the line is actually open or the clog has moved.
We tell you what caused it
If it was grease, you will hear it. If we suspect roots or a broken section, we will say so and talk about a camera inspection before anyone spends money on repairs.

What affects the price
No mystery numbers. These are the things that move the price.
Where the clog is
A trap under the sink is a short job. A main line that needs the big machine from an outdoor cleanout is a longer one.
Access
A capped cleanout in the yard saves time. Pulling a toilet or going through the roof adds it.
What is causing it
Grease and hair clear cleanly. Roots and collapsed pipe can be cleared for now but will need a plan.
Around here
Old lines and new subdivisions clog for different reasons.
Older homes around Bardstown and Elizabethtown often have cast iron or clay lines that have been in the ground a long time. Roots find the joints, and the inside of old cast iron gets rough enough to catch everything. Newer subdivisions have their own habit: long PVC runs with a shallow slope that hold grease and wipes.

What people ask about this work.
Should I use a chemical drain cleaner first?
We would rather you did not. Most of them do nothing for a real clog and some damage older pipes and traps. If you already have, tell us when you call so we can work safely.
Can you clear a main line?
Yes. Main line clogs, the ones that back up more than one fixture, are a large part of our drain work.
Do you use a camera?
When it makes sense. A camera inspection is how we confirm roots, breaks or bellies before recommending a repair. See Sewer and Septic.
Do you hydro jet?
Yes. Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to scour grease, scale and roots off the inside of the pipe, and it is what we reach for when a line keeps clogging after cabling, or for restaurant and commercial drains that carry a lot of grease.
Will it come back?
A one-off clog usually stays gone. If the line has roots or damage we will tell you, so you can decide between clearing it again later or fixing the cause.
